The 2011 orthophoto is a digital aerial photograph in which displacements due to tilt and relief have been corrected to produce uniform scale and a true representation of the ground. The data capture was contracted out on behalf of the District of Saanich by the CRD to Mapcon Mapping Ltd. (Burnaby, BC, CAN) and was captured in a digital format using the Vexcel UltraCam-X large format digital photogrammetric camera at 10x10cm resolution. The images were captured May 18-20 2011 at a 10 cm resolution, post processed and loaded into a seamless mosaic and compressed using JPEG2000 (75% compression). It is stored in coordinate system UTM Zone 10 N, NAD83 CSRS Datum. |
